Marriage Records
As one of the most important events in many people’s lives,
the civil and religious records of marriages can provide vital genealogical
information. On-line searchable databases
for the state of New Jersey covering the periods 1666-1799 and 1848-1867 are
available on the State Archives website. A grant from the Mercer County Culture and Heritage Commission funded the transcription
of the Index to Marriages and
Deaths Reported in Trenton Newspapers, 1770s-1899. The obituary entries can be found separately
