Criminal Records
While
perhaps not the most edifying aspect of a family’s history, a criminal record
may add some color to the dry facts of birth and death dates. Few records of individual encounters with
the criminal justice remain extant. One
source for a limited timeframe of Trenton’s history is a series of police
blotters held in the Trentoniana Room of the Trenton Public Library.
Volunteers from the Central Jersey Genealogy Club have begun indexing these
ledgers. Their efforts are available
here:
1. Jan 1, 1892 – Sept. 30, 1893
2. Oct. 14, 1892 – June 30, 1895
3. Jan. 1, 1900 – June 12, 1901
6. Nov. 10, 1906 – Dec. 13, 1910
7. Dec. 16, 1910 – Jan. 1, 1915
