This Indenture Made this fourth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and seventy nine Between Samuel Henry of Trenton in the County of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey of the one part And James Chapman Waggoner of the same place of the other part Witnefseth that the said Samuel Henry for and in Consideration of the sum of Six Hundred and Fifty Pounds Current money of the State aforesaid to him in hand paid by the said James Chapman at or before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Samuel Henry doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof and from every part and parcell thereof do hereby Acquit release and for ever Discharge him the said James Chapman his Heirs Executors Administrators and Afsigns by these presents Hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed Released Conveyed and Confirmed And by these presents Doth absolutely Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said James Chapman and to his Heirs and Afsigns forever a certain small wood House and lott of Land lying and being on the east side of A small alley leading from the lower (lower is best guess) or water Street to front Street in Tronton aforesaid Butted and Bounded as follows Viz: Beginning at the corner of a lott of land now in the Pofsefsion of Lawrence Mullin and runs from thence Northwardly along the said alley Forty two feet thence Eastwardly, at right angles by other Land of the said Samuel Henry’s Ninety three feet to the rear or back end of Archibald William Yard’s lott thence Southwardly, along the back end of his Lott Forty two feet to the southwest cornor thereof thence westwardly along by the land of Conrad Kotts’s and the aforesaid lott new in pofsefsion of Lawrence Mullin about Eighty three feet to the aforesaid alley and place of Beginning Containing Three thousand six Hundred and Ninoty Six feet of Land be the same more or lefs Together with all the Houses Buildings fences ways waters Rights Liberties Priviledges Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said House and lott of land belonging or in any wise appertaining with the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Ifsues and Profits thereof And all the estate right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Samuel Henry Either in law or equity of in or to the said House and lott of land and Premises and every part and parcell thereof with their and every of their Appurtenances To have and to Hold the said Granted and Bargained House and lott of land with their appurtenances unto the said James Chapman his Heirs and Afsigns to the only proper use and Benefit and Behoof of him the said James Chapman his Heirs and Afsigns forever And the said Samuel Henry doth Covenant for himself and his Heirs to and with the said James Chapman his Heirs and Afsigns that they have not done nor wittingly or willingly suffered to be done any act matter cause or thing whatsoever whereby or by Reason whereof the above Granted and Bargained House and lott of land and Premises with their and every of their Appurtenances in any way Impeached or Incumbred in title estate or otherwise howsoever And also that he the said James Chapman his Heirs and Afsigns shall and may at all times forever hereafter peaceably and Quietly have hold use occupy Pofsefs and enjoy all and Singular the hereby Granted and bargained House and lott of Land and Premises with their and every of their Appurtenances without any lett suit denial Hindrance Trouble Molestation Disturbance Eviction Ejection or any Interuption whatsoever of him the said Samuel Henry his Heirs Executors administrators or any person or persons lawfully Claiming or to Claim by from or under them or any of them or by any of their acts Means previty or procurement And the said Samuel Henry the aforesaid Granted and Bargained Premises with their appurtenances unto the said James Chapman his Heirs and afsigns against him the said Samuel Henry his Heirs and afsigns will Warrant and forever Defend by these Presents In Witnefs whereof the said Samuel Henry hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and Year first above Written-

Hunterdon xxx Before me James Ewing one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas for said County personally appeared Charles Axford one of the Subfcribing Witnefses to the within Deed who being duly sworn &c did depose that he saw Samuel Henry the within grantor sign & seal the within Instrument and that he did deliver it for the purpofes therein mentioned & that Renfsellair Williams the other subfcribing Witnefs was present at the same time & signed the same as a witnefs.
