            This Indenture made the First Day of the Fifth month called May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two Between John Pemberton of the city of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania Merchant and Hannah his wife of the one part and Stacey Potts of Trenton in the County of Hunterdon in West Jersey Tanner of the other part Witnefseth that the said John Pemberton and Hannah his wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and twenty five pounds Gold and Silver money of New Jersey aforesaid to them in hand paid by the said Stacey Potts at the execution of these Presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said Stacey Potts and to his heirs and afsigns One moiety or full equal and undivided half part, the whole unto two equal parts to be divided, of and in a certain lot or piece of land situate lying and being in Trenton aforesaid described in a certain indenture dated the seventeenth day of September 1762, made between Benjamin Yard of Trenton and Ann his wife of the one part and Owen Biddle and Timothy Matlack of the other part, as follows Begining at a stone standing in the bank of the plateing millrace, and bears south west feventy two degrees at twenty eight links distance from the plating millwall thence fouth eighteen degrees west one chain and nineteen links to a stone standing in the Bank of the run, and is a corner of the said Benjamin Yard’s plating mill lot, thence north seventy five degrees west two chains to a stone standing on the line of land late belonging to Benjamin Smith deceased thence along that line north twenty six degrees east one chain and thirteen links to a stone standing six links to the fouthward of a black walnut tree, thence fouth seventy six degrees east two Chains and fixteen links to the place of begining, with the like moiety or equal undivided half part, the whole into two equal parts to be divided of and in the Steel Furnace erected and standing on the faid Lot or piece of Ground [ which premises Owen Biddle and Sarah his wife Joseph Fox and Elizabeth his wife, and Judah Foulke and Mary his wife according to their respective shares and interests therein by Indenture Quadripartite dated the twenty fourth day of August 1770 granted unto the said John Pemberton in fee ] Also a certain other lot or piece of land nearly adjoining to the herein before described premises situate in Trenton aforesaid described in the Indenture herein after recited made between Nathan Pettit of the one part and John Zane of the other part, as follows, Begining at a post, a corner of a lot of land of one acre and an half and thirty seven perches, formerly an apple tree, and corner to a tract of land late of Joseph Brittain deceased, Thence along the line of said land fouth fixty two degrees east three Chains to a stone, another corner of the faid lot of land, thence south eighty four degrees west three chains and sixty Links to a ftone in another of said Brittain’s lines, thence along the said line north twenty six degrees east two Chains and six links to the place of begining Containing one quarter of an Acre and nine perches of land be the fame more or lefs, with the mefsuage or Tenement erected thereon [ which last described lot or piece of land Nathaniel Pettit, Esquire by Indenture dated the ninth day of May 1772 released and confirmed unto John Zane in fee, who with Sarah his wife by deed poll indorsed on the last recited Indenture, dated the tenth day of October 1772 released and confirmed the same unto John Pemberton in fee ] Together also with the like moiety or undivided half part of all and singular other the Buildings improvements ways, streets alleys pafsages waters, watercourses, rights, liberties, privileges emoluments advantages hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever unto the aforesaid first described lot or piece of land and Steel Furnace thereon erected belonging or in any wise appertaining and of the reversions and remainders rents ifsues and profits thereof, and also all other the estate part, share right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of them the said John Pemberton and Hannah his wife of in and to the same, And all and fingular other the buildings improvements hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the said one quarter of an acre and nine perches of land belonging and the reversions and remainders rents ifsues and profits thereof, and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand of them the said John Pemberton and Hannah his wife of in and to the same To have and to hold the said moiety or full equal and undivided half part ( the whole into two equal parts to be divided ) of and in the first described Lot or piece of Land and Steel Furnace thereon erected with all and singular the hereditaments premises and appurtenances to the said undivided half part belonging, And to have and to hold the faid last described Lot or piece of Land of one quarter of an acre and nine perches more or lefs with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances unto the said Stacey Potts his heirs and afsigns, To and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said Stacey Potts his heirs and afsigns forever, And the said John Pemberton doth covenant for himself and his heirs and for the said Hannah his wife and her heirs, that he the faid John Pemberton and his heirs the said moiety or full equal and undivided half part of the said first described lot or piece of land and Steel Furnace thereon erected, and the said one quarter of an acre and nine perches of Land hereditaments and premises hereby granted with all and fingular the appurtenances to each of them respectively belonging unto the said Stacey Potts his heirs and afsigns against him the faid John Pemberton and his heirs and against the said Hannah his wife and her heirs and against all and every other person and person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof by from or under him her them or any of them shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In Witnefs whereof the said parties to these present have interchangeably sett their hands and feals hereunto Dated the day and Year first above written-
